Heather Cook is the Director of Finance & Tax for The Sembler Company, directing the company’s Finance division, which prepares the financial and tax information for over 100 legal entities operating in the southeastern United States and Puerto Rico.

Cook has over 20 years of tax, financial planning, and cash management experience.  Cook acts as a liaison between management, the Board of Directors, and the company’s tax return advisors while facilitating the financial goals and reporting responsibilities of the company.  Cook works closely with the company’s Investments and Development departments ensuring that their cash management and reporting requirements are fulfilled.

Cook has been with Sembler for almost two decades, joining the company as a Director in 2000.  Prior to joining The Sembler Company, Cook worked in the tax departments of Coopers & Lybrand, L.L.P., and Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc.

At Sembler, Cook is an animal advocate and promotes fundraising for the SCPA.  The SPCA Tampa Bay is the only non-profit open-admission animal shelter and public veterinary center in Pinellas County providing immunizations, medical care, behavior training, and enrichment programs for sheltered animals.

Cook holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and received her Master of Accountancy, Taxation from the University of Missouri-Columbia where she received a research assistant’s scholarship.  She is a licensed Florida Certified Public Account since 1998.  She is an active member of the AICPA and the FICPA.
