Susan G. Komen
In 2013, Helen Camp & Meredith Hoffman were heading to San Diego for their 6th consecutive year of participating in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure Walk. Each year the “Bosom Buddies Forever” team treks new terrain in their endeavor to walk 60 miles to raise funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Since the team was formed in 2006 their efforts have included the annual Walks, an annual golf tournament, jewelry parties, and a pottery Girl’s Night. To date the team has raised over $100,000 for Susan G. Komen! Komen for the Cure is the world’s largest grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists fighting to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures. Thanks to events like the Komen Race for the Cure® and the 3-Day for the Cure, the organization has invested more than $1.9 billion to fulfill its promise, becoming the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
