Big Brothers Big Sisters
The national program helps children achieve success in school, helps them avoid risky behaviors such as getting into fights and trying drugs and alcohol, and helps them improve their self-confidence. It pairs mentors with children in need and helps them reach their potential by providing advice and inspiration. Meredith Hoffman, Helen Camp, and Janine Smith have been Big Sisters in the In-School program where they met with their little sis at her school for an hour each week to help with homework, socialization and friendship. Big Sisters Jackie Cataldo, Michelle McIntosh, and Sandra Josephs participated in the community base program by spending time twice a month with their little sisters by engaging in a variety of social activities and providing friendship and guidance.
